Released in 1987, The House of Blue Light is Deep Purple’s 12th studio album and the second album recorded after the classic Mark II lineup reunited in the mid-1980s. The album aimed for a more polished and modern production compared to Perfect Strangers (1984) but retained their signature hard rock sound. Some fans found it more experimental, blending traditional Deep Purple rock elements with a more 1980s-style production.
